At Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nagoya City, Naka-ku, President & CEO: Shinichi TOYOSHIMA), which promotes proposals for comfortable lifestyles, we are developing various collection and recycling materials and projects. These initiatives are collectively referred to as 'OurCycle' to represent TOYOSHIMA 's resource circulation scheme, and we propose ways to turn various everyday 'discarded items' into new value through TOYOSHIMA 's unique systems.
As part of OurCycle's initiatives, we are launching the "Cy:Make project," which regenerates cosmetics with their intended purpose as "color" and circulates them into new products.
So far, under this project, Lumine has produced keychains for the "Lumine Nee-Man Ethical" held by Lumine from January 2 ~ February 4, 2026, as well as coasters sold at Ilumine.
■ About "Cy:Make"
In many cosmetics and colorant manufacturers, cosmetic bulk products that can no longer be released to the market in order to maintain R&D processes or quality are inevitably being disposed of as waste. Additionally, it is recognized as a common issue in daily life that cosmetics end their functions without being fully used.
"Cy:Make" is a circular project that collaborates with Mongarta Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nerima-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Toshinori Tanaka; Website: https://man-gata.com/), which possesses proprietary technology for turning cosmetics into ink. It regenerates cosmetics that have served their purpose as "color" and circulates them into new products. After their roles in the R&D process of cosmetic manufacturers end, cosmetics that were inevitably discarded or unused cosmetics from daily life are collected and inked. Cosmetics inked using our proprietary technology are reborn as fabrics and goods while maintaining delicate glitter and nuanced colors, delivering them back into daily life as products with unique expressions.
The ink used in this project is made by mixing powdered and stirring cosmetic products with cosmetic-derived pigments (pigments that have passed their expiration date but can still be used industrially and are of good quality), then mixed with solvents.
■ Product Planning at the "Lumine Newman Ethics Carnival" held from January 2 ~ February 4, 2026
The "Lumine Neane Keychains" and "Lumine Sister Coasters" featured at the "Lumine Neumann Ethics Carnival" held by Lumine from January 2 ~ February 4, 2026, were produced through the Cy:Make project. Some of the unwanted cosmetics collected and sorted in collaboration between Lumine Co., Ltd. and Mongata Co., Ltd. were used as raw materials. Both companies aim to increase the collection and sorting of unwanted cosmetics stored in households and contribute to further promoting resource circulation, and irregularly collect unwanted cosmetics at stores operated by Lumine.
