Promoting Comfortable Lifestyle Proposals Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City Naka-ku, President and CEO: Hanshichi Toyoshima) has launched "FOOD TEXTILE Courtyard by Marriott Kyoto Shijo Karasuma" on August 27, 2025, a project brand developed by (Headquarters: , Nagoya City, President and CEO: ) to reuse unused ingredients as dyes. We have created a steam iron storage bag to be installed in the guest room. The color of the bag is extracted from the coffee after dripping.
Under the "Aichi Circular Economy Promotion Project" launched by Aichi Prefecture, TOYOSHIMA collaborated with JR Tokai Hotels Co., Ltd. to use the scheme of TOYOSHIMA 's "WAMEGURI" project to collect uniforms used in each hotel and recycle them into yarn. The company has produced drawstring bags that store dryers using some of the threads as materials, and since March 2025, they have been installed in all guest rooms of all six hotels operated by the company.
This initiative has been well received, and this time, we have used the "FOOD TEXTILE" project to create a steam iron storage bag with colors extracted from the coffee after dripping. It will be installed in the guest rooms of the "Courtyard by Marriott Kyoto Shijo Karasuma", which opened in Kyoto on August 27, 2025.
FOOD TEXTILE will continue to collaborate with you to fashionably color the life scenes of clothing, food, and housing.

JR Tokai Hotels has opened its seventh hotel in Kyoto. All rooms are equipped with hair dryer bags that reuse old uniforms, and we have been considering materials that can be reused with a similar concept. As a result, we decided to adopt coffee, which is also preferred by hotel guests, by superimposing it on the hotel's image. In addition, as part of our sustainable initiatives, we are promoting the creation of hotels that are environmentally friendly, such as introducing FSC-certified hangers.

■ About FOOD TEXTILE

"FOOD TEXTILE" is a sustainable project brand consisting of three companies: TOYOSHIMA, a food-related company that provides raw materials for colors, and a collaborative company that develops products from its fabrics. We purchase unused or out-of-spec ingredients, cut vegetable scraps, and coffee refreshers from food-related companies and farms, extract the ingredients contained in the ingredients, and use them as dyes to dye fabrics and threads to create new items.
