TOYOSHIMA is a project developed by "ORGABITS" that aims to contribute to society through activities to promote organic cotton. Donations to NPOs and Charitable Organizations in Japan and Overseas

Press ReleaseSustainability
Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Hanshichi Toyoshima, Nagoya City Naka-ku) to promote a comfortable lifestyle, the project "ORGABITS" that aims to contribute to society through the promotion of organic cotton will be launched on Friday, August 29, 2025. A portion of the proceeds from sales of approximately 500,000 products and products in collaboration with apparel brands that participated in this project will be donated to a total of eight organizations, including NPOs and charitable organizations.

■20-year-old organic cotton popularization project "ORGABITS"

"ORGABITS" is an organic cotton promotion project that began in 2005 with the desire to contribute to the global environment and producers by "bits". To make it easier for organic cotton to be used and popularized, we have produced more than 150 fashion brands and produced more than 12 million items in total (as of the end of June 2025) with the "reversal idea" of delivering 100% organic cotton products to 100 times more people, rather than sticking to the use of 100% organic cotton in a single piece of clothing. The items endorsed by ORGABITS include donations to support organic cotton farmers and NPOs, and the circle of social contribution activities that can be participated in on a daily basis through a single piece of clothing is expanding.

・Initiatives related to donations

This time, approximately 3.5 million yen, which is a portion of the sales of approximately 500,000 project products sold from July 2024 to June 2025, will be presented as a donation to a total of eight organizations. Donations will be used to fund the activities of each organization.

Donations started in 2012, and this year, the 14th year, totaled 73,911,310 yen.

今後も「ORGABITS」は、各団体様からのご協力をいただきながら、“ちょっといいこと”の輪を拡げていくことを目指してまいります。

・What is organic cotton?

Organic cotton is cotton grown organically on farmland that does not use pesticides and chemicals that affect the environment and organisms for more than three years, according to the standards of organic farming methods in each country. By using organic cotton, we help protect the lives of the people involved in production and the environment such as the land where cotton is grown. We believe that choosing organic cotton is the first step towards a sustainable society, and TOYOSHIMA aims to popularize organic cotton.
