On Monday, May 24, we will open the website "kurumi" that proposes the realization of a safer, more secure and healthy society by solving various issues of people living in the city using smart wear. This website introduces TOYOSHIMA's initiatives related to smart wear.

Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. Mizuho is engaged in a series of processes from product planning to production management and delivery, including the purchase and sale of raw materials, yarns, and fabrics from all over the world, and is developing its business comprehensively in all processes of the fashion industry. Furthermore, in a world where 5G and ICT are spreading and Society 5.0 is being promoted, we have been exploring what fashion can provide to society, and since 2017, we have been developing smart clothing together with tech companies.
As part of these efforts, in January 2021, we announced the "Wearable Smart Town KURUMI Concept," which aims to solve various issues for people living in each region and realize a safer, more secure, and healthier society through smart clothing filled with the power of ×fashion technology.

The newly opened website "kurumi" is a site that introduces TOYOSHIMA's smart wear initiatives based on the "Wearable Smart Town kurumi Concept". Explanations and videos of each smartware developed so far are introduced in five usage scenarios.
Along with TOYOSHIMA, the site is aimed at all people who are interested in smart wear and smart towns, as well as local governments and businesses that can work on urban development using smart wear, as well as companies that are considering purchasing smart wear.

■ What is the “Wearable Smart Town Kurumi Concept”?
The population has been declining since 2010, and with the advent of a super-aging society, issues such as the growing need to care for the elderly, a shortage of workers, and an increase in medical expenses borne by the government have become issues. Under these circumstances, it is predicted that each region will need to make further efforts in the future to promote the health of residents and create livable cities, with the key word being "health."

In a world where 5G and ICT are spreading, various high-performance sensing devices and health management services that lead to "health" are appearing. However, there is a problem that it is difficult to secure the cost because the work load is large and individual effects cannot be verified. In response to this issue, we will propose various smart wear and services together to support each region to make it easier to introduce devices and services.

"kurumi" contains the idea of "working with [town-wide] with kindness like [baby swaddle]". In addition, solving regional issues through smartwear is positioned as one of the five missions in the SDGs declaration announced by TOYOSHIMA in June 2020, "Creating a sustainable system" and "creating a Creating people-friendly communities." .
