TOYOSHIMA and JEPLAN Sign Official Partnership for "BRING Material™" Yarn Sales

Press ReleaseCollaboration
Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. (President: Hanshichi Toyoshima, Nagoya City Naka-ku)has entered into an official partnership with JEPLAN Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President & CEO: Masaki Takao, Kawasaki-ku, hereinafter referred to as "JEPLAN") regarding the yarn sales of BRING Material™, a sustainable recycled polyester resin derived from 100% fiber.
With this agreement, TOYOSHIMA will start stocking and selling yarns using "BRING Material™" as an official partner.

Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. is engaged in a series of processes from the purchase and sale of raw materials, yarns, and fabrics from all over the world, to the planning and production of final products, and is comprehensively developing business in all processes of the fashion industry. In addition, in a world where 5G and ICT are spreading and Society 5.0 is being promoted, we are seeking ways to contribute to society, and since 2017 we have been investing in venture companies with the latest technologies from the CVC Fund.

JEPLAN's vision is to "circulate everything," and while being widely involved in the supply chain, JEPLAN is promoting manufacturing, business development, and technology licensing using its unique PET chemical recycling technology "BRING Technology™" to realize limited resource circulation and contribute to the reduction of CO₂ emissions. We are working on the operation of the brand "BRING" that implements a circular economy in society in which unnecessary clothes are collected and "clothes are made from clothes" by creating a resource recycling system with our unique chemical recycling technology and resource recycling system, and we are working on a resource recycling business that realizes the recycling of PET bottles over and over again in cooperation with local governments and companies.

Since forming a capital and business alliance through CVC at the end of 2017, Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. has been collaborating on the creation of a clothing recycling system and the creation of materials using recycled polyester.

In recent years, mass disposal of clothing has become a problem in the global fashion industry, and polyester-derived products account for about 60% of fiber production* among the discarded clothing. Under these circumstances, JEPLAN manufactures and sells BRING Material™, a sustainable recycled polyester resin derived from 100% fiber, using its unique PET chemical recycling technology and clothing collection system. Until now, "BRING Material™" has been sold as recycled polyester "resin", which is a raw material for apparel products, but this time TOYOSHIMAThrough this partnership, we will build a supply system using yarn, which is the material of apparel products. This is expected to reduce the process of manufacturing yarn from resin, which apparel manufacturers have been involved in, and to lower the hurdle of burden of carrying yarn production lots, making it easier to adopt "BRING Material™" in products. We believe that this will also lead to opportunities for many consumers to come into contact with products that embody the circular economy.

■Sales of TOYOSHIMA yarn based on official partnerships

TOYOSHIMA will start stocking and selling six types of yarn as "BRING Material™ Authorized Yarn Distributer". Taking advantage of the characteristics of polyester, it is intended for a wide range of products such as sports / outdoor, casual, uniforms, etc. In the future, we plan to expand sales through exhibiting at exhibitions and sales, and to increase the types of yarns we handle.

■What is BRING Material™?
BRING Material™, whose keyword is "making polyester sustainable," is a 100% fiber-derived recycled polyester raw material that is recycled and manufactured using our original PET chemical recycling technology "BRING Technology™" from fiber scraps generated when making unwanted clothing and apparel products.
BRING, which is operated by JEPLAN, works with various apparel brands to collect unnecessary clothing. Clothing collected by BRING is reused or recycled material by material. Of these, 100% polyester fiber clothing is chemically recycled and recycled into recycled polyester resin BRING Material™, which is reborn as a raw material for new clothes.
*The official website of BRING Material will be released in early July.
