“ORGABITS”, a project developed by Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. (President: Hanshichi Toyoshima, Naka-ku, Nagoya) that aims to contribute to society through activities to spread organic cotton, will start on August 29, 2022 (Monday). , Products collaborated with apparel brands that participated in this project ・Part of the sales of more than 1 million items will be donated to a total of 8 organizations such as NPOs and charities.





■ ORGABITS, a 17-year organic cotton spread project
"ORGABITS" was started in 2005. By contributing "a little bit" to the global environment and producers, "ORGABITS" grows together with consumers toward the future, and is a circle of compassion for the earth and society. This is a project to popularize organic cotton, aiming for a world where organic cotton is spreading.
A total of about 140 brands have participated in the "reversal idea" of increasing the percentage of organic cotton used in one piece to 10% or more, not being particular about 100%, and delivering it to 100 times more people, and a total of more than 10 million items. We are producing. (as of June 2022)
Through fashion, we will expand the circle of “little good things” that make the world a better place.

・Efforts related to donations
We donate 1 yen for each product that uses Orgabits to PEACE BY PEACE COTTON, a general incorporated foundation that supports cotton farmers in India. In addition, we will donate 10 yen per item for collaboration products with brands that participate in the project to NPOs and charities that are active in various fields such as the environment, welfare, developing country support, and reconstruction in Japan and overseas. I'm here.
This time, about 4 million yen, which is part of the sales of about 1 million project products sold from July 2021 to June 2022, will be donated to a total of 8 organizations. Donations will be used to fund the activities of each organization.

The donation presentation, which started in 2012, has reached a total of 59,546,926 yen this year in its 11th year.
“ORGABITS” will continue to aim to expand the circle of “little good things” with the cooperation of each organization.


・What is organic cotton?
Organic cotton is cotton that has been organically grown on farmland that has not used pesticides or chemical substances that have an impact on the environment or living organisms for about three years or more according to the organic farming standards of each country. The use of organic cotton helps protect the environment, such as the people involved in the production and the land where cotton is grown. Considering that choosing organic cotton is the first step toward a sustainable society, TOYOSHIMA aims to spread organic cotton.

・Peace by Peace Cotton Project (PEACE BY PEACE COTTON)

Selling organic cotton products with a fund.
The collected donations are used for a project to spread organic cotton, such as support for organic cotton farmers in India and support for returning to school.



・ CliniClowns Project (Authorized NPO CliniClowns Association)
 
 In this project, clinical clowns (clinics = hospitals, clowns = clowns) regularly visit hospitalized children's rooms and support their growth through play and conversation.



・Sakura Namiki Project (NPO Sakura Namiki Network)
In order to prevent the memory of the disaster from fading and to pass down the story across generations, this project involves planting cherry trees in the areas hit by the tsunami that occurred in the Tohoku region during the Great East Japan Earthquake.



・LOOM SAKURA PROJECT (LOOM NIPPON)
LOOM stands for "Love Of Our Motherland".
Together with our love for our hometown, we planted cherry trees in Minamisanriku Town, which was greatly damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and aim to make Minamisanriku Town a famous place for cherry blossoms.



・Girls Project (Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Plan International Japan)
Focusing on the problems faced by girls in developing countries, this project aims to help girls acquire the power to live.



 

・Blue Ocean Project (NPO Japan Sea Turtle Association)
This project not only protects sea turtles, but also conserves marine animals and the coastal environment, and explores and realizes ways to preserve the lifestyles and culture of people who live near the coast, fishermen, and people who come in contact with sea turtles.



・Musubie (National Children's Cafeteria Support Center, Musubie)
It is a project to "create a society in Japan where no one is left out through the support of children's cafeterias" by working on three axes: support for local children's cafeteria networks, collaborative projects with companies and organizations, and research and research projects.



・Japan Heart (Certified NPO Japan Heart)
 
Efforts with this organization that conducts medical activities in Japan and overseas, mainly in Southeast Asia, and emergency relief activities in the event of an emergency. This is a project to make the person in front of you happy to be born through Japanese medical care.
