■Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. Thoughts on SDGs

TOYOSHIMA announced the SDGs Declaration in June 2020. The "SDGs Partner Agreement" concluded with Montedio Yamagata is one of the five missions of the TOYOSHIMA, "Creating a sustainable system" and " I believe that it is positioned in the Creating people-friendly communities". Currently, TOYOSHIMA is focusing on sustainability initiatives and the development and provision of smart clothing. In our sustainability initiatives, we are working to contribute to the SDGs and realize a sustainable society by promoting the spread of organic cotton and delivering products that use various sustainable materials to our customers.
In the development and provision of smart wear, we have set up the "Wearable Smart Town [kurumi] Concept," which aims to solve regional issues by realizing "watching" and "health promotion" with the power of fashion × technology in a world where 5G and ICT are spreading and Society 5.0 is being promoted, and we are working to realize the SDGs goals achieved through this concept.
With the conclusion of this partnership agreement with Montedio Yamagata, we will work together on various initiatives from the perspectives of manufacturing, watching, and health promotion, and will support the people of Yamagata Prefecture to lead to a better future.

■What is Toyoshima & Co., Ltd.'s "Wearable Smart Town [kurumi] concept"?

The population has been declining since 2010, and with the advent of a super-aging society, issues such as the growing need to care for the elderly, a shortage of workers, and an increase in medical expenses borne by the government have become issues. Under these circumstances, it is predicted that each region will need to make further efforts in the future to promote the health of residents and create livable cities, with the key word being "health."
In a world where 5G and ICT are spreading, various high-performance sensing devices and health management services that lead to "health" are appearing. The problem is that it is difficult to secure the cost because it is large and individual effects cannot be verified. In response to this issue, by proposing various smart wear and services together, we will support each region to make it easier to introduce devices and services.

■Montedio Yamagata's thoughts on SDGs

We believe that creating a better society is the mission of professional sports clubs. Montedio Yamagata has a stadium that can hold 20,000 people, and there are many supporters and partners who support the players and clubs. The club's activities are featured in the media every day and are seen by many people. Taking advantage of the "recognition, attention, and communication power" of Montedio Yamagata, we will become a hub for local communication and support companies, NPOs, organizations, and individuals that are working on various social issues. And we would like to build partnerships with companies that sympathize with this support, and spread the circle of sympathy not only in Yamagata but also all over Japan and the world.

Among the J-League clubs, we are focusing on hometown activities (local contribution activities) and are working daily to deepen our relationship with the local community. As a result, it has received strong support from the people of Yamagata Prefecture, and has been praised by the prefectural governor as a "treasure of the people of the prefecture."
