(President & CEO: Hanshichi Toyoshima, Nagoya City Naka-ku Nishiki 2-15-15), an Internet mall for wholesale of fabrics and auxiliary materials, will start distributing content on textile trends supervised by textile designer Kanako Kajiwara through a members-only e-mail magazine from Thursday, August 30, 2018.

Launched in 2008, TEXTILE NET is a wholesale site for fabrics and secondary materials that can efficiently display and sell textile products for apparel and miscellaneous goods retailers. Currently, there are 19 exhibiting companies and about 13,000 buyer members. In recent years, we have also expanded our original print processing services.

Profile of Kanako Kajihara

 


Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Graduated from Tama Art University, Faculty of Design, Department of Dyeing and Weaving.
After working at Issey Miyake Textile Planning Co., Ltd., he moved to England.
Studied concept direction and design consulting from textiles at the Royal College of Art RCA in the UK and obtained an MA. Won the Grand Prix at TEXPRINT 2005, a design competition for newcomers in Europe. Returned to Japan in 2006 after working overseas as a freelance designer. Established KAJIHARA DESIGN STUDIO Co., Ltd. and worked with companies in various fields such as fashion, interior, and architecture, and was involved in textile design and product branding as a creative director. In 2013, he won the Grand Prix at the PV award, a global textile competition sponsored by Premiere Vision Paris, for the textile he developed with a Japanese company. In 2015, he became a JETRO export advisor. Since 2017, he has been the chief judge of the JAPAN TEXTILE CONTEST.
Produced and launched "COQ", a complex of shops, dining and guesthouses in Tokiwa, Sapporo. Through new manufacturing that utilizes traditional Japanese techniques and branding that creates values, we propose the rich possibilities of textiles in our lives.
