Orgabits is a project promoted by TOYOSHIMA, a specialized trading company that boasts the largest trading volume of cotton in Japan. The largest number of apparel brands in Japan participates, with more than 90 brands participating. Every year, we receive sponsorship from many fashion brands, and it is attracting attention as a fashion-conscious competition, such as the best dresser award.

- Uses eco-friendly award medals "born from smartphones"
The winning medals are specially made, eco-friendly medals created by reusing precious metals contained in used mobile phones and other small electronic devices—so-called "urban mines."
• Plenty of content beyond running is also available.
The event features unique elements such as the sale of organic vegetables and an awards ceremony for the best-dressed person.

■What is the "Orgavitz Project" developed by TOYOSHIMA?
The project, which started in 2006, currently produces about 630,000 items a year with about 90 brands participating in the "reverse concept" of delivering 100% products to 100 times more people without sticking to 100% organic cotton. These activities have expanded to support farmers and NPOs in the country of origin, and the circle of social contribution activities that allow people to participate in fashionable clothes is also expanding.
Cotton produced by conventional cultivation methods contains about 15% of the insecticides and 7% of pesticides used around the world (Source: Textile Exchange), and contains various problems such as soil contamination and environmental problems. Organic cotton, on the other hand, refers to organically grown cotton on farmland that has not used any pesticides or chemical fertilizers for more than three years. The growing demand for organic cotton is expected to reduce the use of conventional cotton cultivation methods and improve the above problems.
