■What is the "Ogavitz Project" developed by Toyoshima & Co., Ltd.?
The organic cotton promotion project in which the largest number of apparel brands in the Japan participate. With the idea of "reversal" to deliver 100% products to 100 times more people without sticking to 100% organic cotton, about 90 brands are currently participating and producing about 630,000 items a year. These activities have expanded to support farmers and NPOs in the country of origin, and the circle is expanding as a social contribution activity where people can participate in fashionable clothes through a single piece of clothing.
Cotton produced by conventional cultivation methods contains about 15% of the insecticides and 7% of pesticides used around the world (*Source: Textile Exchange), and contains various problems such as soil contamination and environmental problems. Organic cotton, on the other hand, refers to organically grown cotton on farmland that has not used any pesticides or chemical fertilizers for more than three years. The growing demand for organic cotton is expected to reduce the use of conventional cotton cultivation methods and improve the above problems.

■About "SELF+SERVICE"
"Self + Service" is a fashion brand operated by AEON Retail Co., Ltd. based on the concept of "an ethical shop that takes the global environment into consideration."
Focusing on fashion products made with environmentally friendly materials such as organic cotton and Tencel, we propose ethical products (= products that are friendly to people and the environment, easy to wear, easy to handle) and lifestyles. In addition, we operate a system that allows customers to easily participate in recycling and carbon offset initiatives through purchases, and as of March 2017, we have deployed this at approximately 350 stores. In January 2014, we participated in the Sakura Namiki Project, an activity organized by Ogavitz to plant sakura trees at the highest point of the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and are continuously working on it.

The Augavitz Project won the Good Design Award.
