This rare stole is made into yarn using old-fashioned gala spinning*1 and woven with a power loom*2 to create an item that maximizes the inherent flavor of Japanese cotton. In addition, the unique color and texture of the stole dyed with ink, and the attractive items that are embroidered by hand in the workshop of Porter Classic, are the ultimate items that truly embody Made in Japan.

*1 Gala spinning: Spinning is the process of stretching cotton and twisting it into yarn. The gala spinning machine was made in the Meiji era (Meiji 6) by spinning several threads at once from the ancient hand-spinning method. The name of the spinning came from the rattling sound of the machine during operation. There are only a few gala spinning machines in Japan that are still in operation.
*2 Power loom: This is an old-fashioned loom that weaves by passing a paddle called a shuttle to the weft yarn of the fabric. Compared to modern innovative looms (the method of passing yarn by air is the mainstream), it is possible to carefully weave yarn that is soft like this gala spinning yarn, has natural unevenness, and has no tension.
