"SELFLAME"® is a functional material developed by TOYOSHIMA that maintains warmth. SELFLAME's fiber raw materials are kneaded with a special ceramic powder that is uniquely blended, and SELFLAME®® absorbs and radiates the heat energy of far-infrared rays emitted from the wearer's body to keep warm. It is a heat retention material that can maintain warmth by circulating temperature between SELFLAME® and the body using the wearer's own body temperature.
The wellness brand "TENTIAL", which TOYOSHIMA has invested in through CVC, which it operates since September 2021, develops and sells products that condition daily life in the three genres of "SLEEP", "FOOT", and "work". TOYOSHIMA SELFLAME® is used as a material for the recovery wear "BAKUNE" series, which is our main product, and we have sold more than 150,000 pieces in the two years since its sale.
With the establishment of "household far-infrared blood circulation promotion clothing" in the category of medical devices by a notification from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in October 2022, it is required to promptly transition from the classification that has been notified or to abolish the notification. Under these circumstances, we have successfully submitted a notification of the sweat type BAKUNE using SELFLAME® to the newly established category. The timing of the switch to sales of this product as a new category is scheduled for this summer.
