TRUECOTTON is a place that is backed up by the fact that people working on cotton farms can live healthy and bright days, and people working in spinning factories that spin cotton to make yarn are motivated to work hard tomorrow. It is a material that contributes to one of the five missions of our SDGs declaration, "Creating materials that are friendly to the earth" with the safe and secure organic cotton yarn produced. It is made by people working in a healthy and safe working environment at the rich farm of the Turkish spinning group “UCAK TEKSTIL”, which TOYOSHIMA has an exclusive contract in Japan.
I hope that the value of valuing producers, methods, and land, which has already permeated the world of food, will spread to the world of fashion.
In May 2019, Seven & i Holdings established the environmental declaration "GREEN CHALLENGE 2050" in order to respond to various changes in the social environment, such as changes in social needs and environmental problems. We have set four specific goals for 2050 in order to realize a society in harmony with nature: CO2 emissions reduction, plastic measures, food loss and food recycling measures, and sustainable procurement. Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. was born by signing an exclusive sales agreement with UCAK TEKSTIL, a Turkish organic spinning groove that is a representative of traceable cotton, to Japanese companies.
Since integrated management from farm to spinning can be performed, it is possible to provide organic cotton yarn that can identify "farm and spinning factory". Cotton is grown from seeds that have not been genetically modified, and is harvested by machine picking, so it is organic cotton that is less contaminated with foreign substances.
