The Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. began in Tencel about 30 years ago. We have been working to promote sustainability in the fashion industry by handling environmentally friendly materials such as organic cotton. FOOD TEXTILE is Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. It is a project consisting of three companies: a food company that provides colored raw materials, and a collaborative company that develops products with its dough. We purchase non-standard ingredients, cut vegetable scraps, and coffee dumplings that have been discarded in the past from food-related companies and farms, extract the ingredients contained in the food, and dye them into dyes. In this second item release, we have adopted fabric dyed in colors extracted from non-standard juniper (herbs) of "Tree of Life" and non-standard purple cabbage (purple cabbage) of "Kewpie Group" for the upper. This time, the second collaboration, there are two colors: “Juniper” using non-standard herbs (juniper) from the tree of life and “Purple Cabbage” using non-standard purple cabbage from the Kewpie Group. The sole uses an outsole with recycled rubber and an Ortholite Eco insole, and the name of the material used for the dye is printed on the back of the tongue. Currently, we are collaborating with more than 15 domestic food-related companies, agriculture, and farms to build a sustainable system that connects industries.
