Support products for the "Sakura Namiki Project"
The "Sakura Namiki Project" is an activity to plant cherry trees in the areas reached by the tsunami that occurred in Tohoku during the Great East Japan Earthquake, in order to prevent the memory of the disaster from fading.
At Orgabits, we will attach a tag with a fund to each product supported by fashion brands that support this project, and donate 10 yen for each product sold to the NPO Sakura Namiki Network. A total of 19 cherry trees have been planted in Miyagi, Fukushima, and other prefectures through the product launch of Orgabits x self-service.

■ Sakura Namiki Project
The "Sakura Namiki Project" is an activity by the NPO Sakura Namiki Network to plant cherry trees in the areas reached by the tsunami that occurred in the Tohoku region during the Great East Japan Earthquake, in order to prevent the disaster from fading.
The Great East Japan Earthquake, which struck suddenly on March 11, 2011, was a devastating disaster that left more than 20,000 people dead or missing. The Tohoku region has experienced many tsunami-related disasters in the past. Looking back at history, a big tsunami always hits Sanriku once every 100 years. It is necessary to pass down the story of this great tsunami from generation to generation and make efforts to never forget the damage.
In the hope that it will serve as a target of "evacuation" in the event of a large tsunami predicted in the future and play a role in protecting the residents, we decided to plant cherry blossoms at the arrival point of the tsunami and create a memorable row of cherry blossom trees. rice field. The "Sakura Namiki Project" was launched by the people of Tohoku who have a strong desire to plant cherry trees and volunteers who are involved in flowers. Tree planting began in the spring of 2012, and by last year 5,063 cherry trees had been planted in Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate prefectures.

■What is Orgabits?

Organic cotton diffusion project in which the largest number of apparel brands in Japan participates

About 15% of the world's pesticides and about 7% of the pesticides used* are used* in the cultivation of cotton, which is used as a raw material for clothing. Environmental and social issues are intertwined. On the other hand, organic cotton is cotton that has been organically grown on farmland that has not used pesticides or chemical fertilizers for more than three years. The widespread use of organic cotton is expected to reduce the use of conventional cotton cultivation methods and improve the problems in the world's growing regions.

"Orgabits" is an organic cotton spread project that started in 2006 with the idea that everyone should contribute to the global environment and producers little by little. In order to facilitate the use and spread of organic cotton, about 100 brands are currently participating, with a cumulative total of 684, based on the "reversal idea" of delivering 100% of the product to 100 times the number of people, regardless of the amount of 100% used in one garment. We produce over 10,000 items. The activity has expanded to support farmers in the country of origin and NPO corporations, and the circle of social contribution activities that can be participated in on a daily basis through one piece of clothing is also expanding.
