FOOD TEXTILE × Cerezo Osaka Launch of T-shirts born from “Sakura” “CEREZO” = “Sakura” in Spanish

Press ReleaseProducts
A project brand developed by Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. of a trading company specializing in textiles "FOOD TEXTILE (Food Textile) is collaborating with Cerezo Osaka, a professional soccer club that is a member of the Japan Professional Soccer League, whose hometown is Osaka City and Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, to release T-shirts dyed with "cherry blossoms" on the "Cerezo Osaka" online shop from Sunday, April 1.

"Cerezo Osaka" × "Sakura"
"CEREZO", the club name of "Cerezo Osaka", means "cherry blossom" in Spanish. "Sakura" is the "city flower" of Osaka and is also a representative flower of Japan.
"Rooted in the community, from here in Osaka to become a club that represents Japan and dreams that bloom in full bloom around the world, we will grow forever with our supporters."
That's what we put into the club's name. Based on the background of the club, we decided to commercialize this product in order to give shape to Cerezo Osaka's idea of "cherry blossoms". Using "cherry blossom" as the dye, we finished the T-shirt with gentle cherry blossom color using food textile technology.

With the launch of a product with a flower motif called "Sakura," which is deeply linked to Japan culture, we will enliven "Cerezo Osaka" from the apparel industry and the professional soccer league.

In food textiles, we have created collaborations with various food companies, including Salad Club Co., Ltd. of the Kewpie Group, Seikatsu no Ki Co., Ltd., and Tully's Coffee. We will continue our efforts to approach the problem of food loss from the apparel industry.

What is food loss
Food loss refers to the loss or disposal of food that was produced for human consumption. From the time it is produced to the time it is consumed in our mouths, food travels through various places such as farms, fishing grounds, storage facilities, food processing factories, supermarkets and convenience stores, restaurants and homes, all the way down rivers. (this flow is called the supply chain in economic terms), but along the way it is lost or discarded for various reasons, even though it is still edible. .

■FOOD TEXTILE

A textile project brand that focuses on the “color” of food.
We reproduce the gentle colors of vegetables with a technology that converts vegetables and ingredients that are scheduled to be discarded into dyes.
Enjoy the color of clothes and miscellaneous goods as you enjoy the color of salad. We propose a new approach to the problem of food waste based on the idea of "vegetables to wear".
