Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Naka-ku, Nagoya, President: Hanshichi Toyoshima) We have invited Mr. Hajime Arai, Managing Executive Officer of GOLDWIN Co., Ltd., Mr. Keiya Masuno, Executive Officer of Spiber Co., Ltd., and Mr. Takashi Sonobe, President and CEO of Kuressava Co., Ltd., to hold a sustainable fashion seminar "Together with our customers" with the aim of promoting and raising awareness of sustainability in the fashion industry. Thinking about the next generation of fashion ~ Introducing "Spiber", which develops artificial protein materials that are friendly to the global environment, and "Kuressava", a recycling-type technology that nurtures food by returning clothing to fertilizer~" will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024.

 

On the day of the event, it will be simulcast via Zoom webinar, and anyone who has applied in advance from the dedicated page can view it.

 



 

In this seminar, which will be held for the fifth time, we invited Spiber Co., Ltd., which develops Brewed Protein™ fibers, an artificial protein material made by fermentation by microorganisms using plant-derived biomass as the main raw material, and Kuressava Co., Ltd., which collects worn and discarded clothes and grows vegetables with fertilizer produced by a unique manufacturing method based on those clothes, and develops a recycling-oriented food, clothing, and housing business. Introducing the forefronts of next-generation materials and circular systems. In addition, Goldwin, which was involved in the development of Brewed Protein™ fibers and has started selling apparel using this protein material globally, will take the stage to talk about the difficulties of product development and the response in the field in a crosstalk format. The facilitation will be handled by Ms. Arisa Kamada, Co-Representative Director of UNISTEPS.

After working in sales for 6 years, he was in charge of brand business and product development. In addition to branding and business strategy formulation, we pursue expertise in garment development from material development to patterns and processing.




 

Keiya Masuno

Executive Officer, Spiber Inc.

After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo, he joined McKinsey & Company. After that, he participated in the launch of RareJob, a major online English conversation company, and after working for Lifenet Life, Japan's first venture life insurance company, in 2015, he became the president of TOOT, a luxury underwear brand for men from Japan, and led the growth of the brand. In September 2022, he was appointed to his current position as an executive officer of Spiber.





 

Hiroshi Sonobe

Kuressava Co., Ltd. President & CEO

 

After graduating from a university in London where she studied fashion design, she joined an American workwear brand and was in charge of product planning. After working as a designer for a major fast fashion brand from Japan, he became the representative of Kuressava Co., Ltd. in 2018.

Co-Representative Director, UNISTEPS

As co-president of UNISTEPS, a general incorporated association with the vision of "a diverse and healthy fashion industry," he has developed a wide range of projects that encourage people to pay attention to the impact on the natural environment and society in the process of clothing production and disposal. He is a doctoral student at Keio University's Graduate School of Media and Governance. Since 2020, he has been an ambassador for Toyoshima & Co., Ltd.'s largest organic cotton promotion project "ORGABITS" in Japan.
