The Toyoshima Welfare Fund (Chairman: Hanshichi Toyoshima) conducted a cleanup activity at Meijo Park in Kita Ward, Nagoya City on November 3 (Wednesday, national holiday).
Every year since 1976, our foundation has been conducting cleanup activities at Honmachi Arcade Street in Ichinomiiya, Aichi Prefecture and Meijo Park.

On the day of the event, about 35 Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. employees and their families collected garbage in the park. The collected PET bottle waste is reborn as a fiber that is the raw material for apparel products as "UpDRIFT"™ developed by our company.




■ (AICHI PLOGGING CHALLENGE)
As part of the marine litter countermeasure project "Umi to Japan Project: CHANGE FOR THE BLUE" promoted by the Japan Foundation, AICHI PLOGGING CHALLENGE and Nagoya Plogging Weekend will be held from May 30, 2021, which is Zero Waste Day.

* Plogging is a coined word that combines the English word "jogging" and the Swedish word "plocka upp" (pick up). It is very popular around the world as a fitness that combines physical fitness and environmental activities.

Our sustainable materials. Garbage such as PET bottles scattered in the sea, rivers, and forests is collected and reborn as “UpDRIFT™,” a fiber that is used as a raw material for apparel products.

■ Toyoshima Welfare Fund

Established in 1973 (Showa 48). It is an incorporated foundation with the aim of "serving the local community and contributing to the development of a welfare society", and provides support for the welfare of the elderly through donations to special needs schools in Aichi Prefecture and facilities for the elderly in Ichinomiiya. In April 2013, it changed to a general incorporated foundation, and continues to carry out the same business activities as before.
