In Japan, red pants have been considered auspicious charms since ancient times, and "red" is often imagined as an energetic color in GoodLuck around the world.
Seietsu Ozawa, who is expanding his activities as an actor, is particular about red underwear. The background of his commitment was the existence of his father, Seiji Ozawa, who was known as a world-class conductor. Seiji was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and always wore red socks, red jumpers, red caps, and other red colors. It is said that such memories from childhood are one of the reasons why he likes red.
Mr. Seietsu Ozawa's childhood experience and commitment to red underwear led to his strong desire to make red bread that is made of good materials, feels good on the skin, and can deliver a good impact on the world and the earth, and the fashion brand "AKAPAN" was born with the keywords "SEIZE THE DAY" and "SAVE THE PLANET". All logos and product designs are directed by Seietsu Ozawa, and organic cotton is used as the material. As for the color, we have selected Mr. Seietsu Ozawa's "special red" from dozens of types of red. The product packaging uses FSC-certified materials, and a portion of the sales of the product are used to promote organic cotton through TOYOSHIMA 's organic cotton promotion project "ORGABITS", which supports organic cotton farmers in India and supports returning to school. Peace by Piece Cotton Project" and the "Blue Ocean Project" of the Japan Sea Turtle Council, a non-profit organization that protects marine animals and the seaside environment.
■Comment by Seietsu Ozawa
Connect with "red"
My father was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox. He always wore red socks, a red cap, and a red jumper (and red underwear, of course). I have seen such a scene since I was a child. Before I knew it, I naturally fell in love with the color "red" and had been wearing red underwear every day for more than 15 years.
According to one theory, wearing red will cheer you up, increase your luck, and in the first place, "red" has the meaning of "warding off evil spirits" (it is said that the red torii gate of the shrine is to ward off evil spirits), and it is full of good things for me as a red lover. If you wear red every day, underwear is the best. It is inconspicuous and does not affect the choice of clothes, and you can still benefit from "red" every day.
Then one day, I suddenly thought. If you wear red underwear every day, why not make your own? Maybe we can make red underwear that many people think is better based on that experience. A piece of material that everyone is satisfied with, a color, and a comfortable one.
The name "AKAPAN" is inspired by the traditional Japan loincloth "Akafun", and the heart for "red" that has been nurtured since ancient Japan and the small feelings of father and son for "red".
Connected by "red", a little more energetic than now, to tomorrow.

■About ORGABITS

ORGABITS, which started in 2005, is an organic cotton popularization project that began in 2005 with the desire to contribute to the global environment and producers by "bits" together. To make it easier for organic cotton to be used and popularized, we have produced more than 150 fashion brands and produced more than 12 million items in total (as of the end of June 2025) with the "reversal idea" of delivering 100% organic cotton products to 100 times more people, rather than sticking to the use of 100% organic cotton in a single piece of clothing. The items endorsed by ORGABITS include donations to support organic cotton farmers and NPOs, and the circle of social contribution activities that can be participated in on a daily basis through a single piece of clothing is expanding.
