Press ReleaseProductCollaboration

FOOD TEXTILE Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Naka-ku, Nagoya, President & CEO: Hanshichi Toyoshima), a project brand that reuses discarded ingredients as dyes, has announced that it will launch a G-SHOCK "G-SHOCK" sold by Casio Computer Co., Ltd., a watch and electronics manufacturer, It was adopted for the cross-band color of the GMD-S5600CT" series. The color is extracted from red turnips and sakura that are scheduled to be discarded, and the material of the band is Turkish organic cotton "TRUECOTTON", which is also developed by TOYOSHIMA, which leads to the construction of a sustainable society.

"FOOD TEXTILE" is a sustainable project brand consisting of three companies: TOYOSHIMA, a food-related company that provides raw materials for colors, and a collaborative company that develops products from its fabrics. We purchase non-standard ingredients, scraps of cut vegetables, and coffee respite from food-related companies and farms that would have been discarded in the past, extract the ingredients contained in the ingredients, and use them as dyes to dye fabrics and threads to create new items.

As a manufacturing manufacturer, Casio Computer considers the realization of a resource-recycling society to be one of its most important issues for the realization of a sustainable society, and is working to reduce its environmental impact by adopting biomass plastics, an eco-friendly material that is friendly to nature, and by using renewable organic resources such as corn as raw materials for its products.

This collaboration was realized because the company can contribute to the company's efforts by incorporating "FOOD TEXTILE," which uses a system that "reuses discarded ingredients as dyes," and "TRUECOTTON," organic cotton, which is grown in a way that does not place a burden on the global environment and producers, and which leads to the construction of a sustainable society.

As the raw materials for dyeing this product, "red turnip" is the part of the fruit that is left over from the leaves used in sunkizuke, and "sakura" is edible and salted and old. It is a gentle color that can be expressed because it is derived from ingredients, and it has been on sale exclusively at the CASIO online store since mid-January as "GMD-S5600CT-3" for red turnips and "GMD-S5600CT-4" for sakura.

In the future, "FOOD TEXTILE" will continue to reincarnate things that are simply thrown away, and create scenes of clothing, food, and housing.

We will propose the value of having fun in a fashionable way.
