Status of efforts to achieve carbon neutrality

InformationCorporateSustainability
Toyoshima & Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Hanshichi Toyoshima, Nagoya City Naka-ku) reported that in the previous fiscal year (106th fiscal period: July 1, 2022 ~ June 30, 2023), CO2 emissions from its own business activities (Scope 1 and 2 (* We have achieved net zero in 1)).

In order to realize a decarbonized society in Society 5.0, we are working to achieve carbon neutrality by reducing CO2 emissions from our business activities to virtually zero.
In the previous fiscal year, we reduced CO2 emissions by 741 tons, equivalent to about 80% of the total fiscal year, by using CO2-free electricity (*2) in the real estate we use, and offset 145 tons of emissions through the purchase of various credits. As a result, we have achieved net zero CO2 emissions in Scope 1 and 2.

We will continue to work to achieve carbon neutrality while reducing emissions with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions.

*1 Scope 1: Direct emissions of greenhouse gases by the business itself (fuel combustion, industrial processes)
Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the use of electricity, heat, and steam supplied by other companies
(*2) An optional plan for electricity rates that utilizes the environmental value of renewable energy sources that do not emit CO2 during power generation and allows the use of electricity from virtually 100% renewable energy.
